Getting Help

As children grow into adults, there will be different challenges requiring different strategies for DCD.  There is no cure for this condition.  However, with help, many will live a full and happy life.  The following are some tips for living life with DCD.

TALK POSITIVELY

Learn how to talk positively about challenges and how they have been overcome

Occupational therapists can help find practical ways to manage everyday tasks

Physiotherapists can help improve coordination and muscle strength

Psychiatrists, psychologists and counsellors can help with the emotional side of DCD for those who are suffering from low self-esteem, anxiety or depression.
